Whey protein is fine, but don’t start taking other things, especially steroids or creatine. Make sure you are on a good strength building program (check out the two websites below) and are lifting with perfect form.
If I were you, I would not use Whey at all. It’s not that there’s something wrong with it, in fact it can help you build muscle. But its always better to get protein from natural sources such as fish, beans, milk, or eggs. However, for convenience or cost, it is perfectly fine to take whey protein.
Whey protein is perfectly safe for adding lean mass. Avoid creatine until you’re 18 or anything that screws with your hormones i.e. steroids or pro-hormones until you are 21 (as long as they are not illegal substances of course)
Virtually all dairy products have some amount of whey protein. The protein in milk is 20% whey, so whey in its concentrated form should be perfectly fine at any age as long as you are not lactose intolerant. Next time you are at the store look at the label on some baby formula. Even that has whey protein in it. Start reading labels and you will see many foods that contain whey, and are safe at any age.
