I’ve been taking similar glucosamine supplements for sometime now and have seen a big change. I always had a pop or crack sound in my left knee when i bent down etc. That hasn’t happened in a long time since using glucosamine. I also take it because if a back injury and it had definitely made a difference in the way i feel.
This product has the addition of vitamin D which is a major vitamin for strong bones (Milk). I will update this review in 2 weeks after taking this product.
UPDATE: I haven’t really seen much of a difference between these and other supplements that are similar that I use. The only thing is that they seem a little easier to swallow compared to others.

For as long as I can remember, I have been very sensitive to medications (whether that is because I am much smaller than the average person or because it’s just part of my medical makeup, I don’t know). As a result, I tend to take a smaller dose of most OTC (over the counter) meds than dosing directions indicate.
In part for this reason and in part because the Move Free Advanced tablets are SO LARGE (though, thankfully, coated for easy swallowing), I did not follow the directions for the loading phase, which are to take FOUR tablets a day for 2 weeks and then TWO tablets a day thereafter. Due to the nausea I experienced for the first 2 weeks (even though I did take the tablet with food as instructed) and again in part due to the size of the tablet, I also did not take 2 tablets per day, but only one and I did not even consistently take 1 tablet every single day. As a result, I do not feel that I can fairly and completely review this product.
During the 4-5 weeks I have been taking the product, I have had more than my usual amount of physical activity–not in terms of regular exercise, but in terms of different kinds of physical activity. During this period, I painted part of a room for the first time, climbing up and down an 8-foot ladder repeatedly for hours; I also played golf for the first time. Even though both of those activities came within the first week or two of my taking this product, I am still suffering some ill effects (a sore shoulder and a sore knee). Therefore, I have actually been feeling much MORE joint discomfort than usual while I’ve been taking the Move Free but, as noted, I also had more and different kinds of activity and did not take the product exactly as directed.
I can’t say I have felt BETTER during the 4-5 weeks I have taken Move Free. However, would I have been suffering even MORE discomfort from my recent activities had I NOT been taking the Move Free during this past 4-5 weeks? It’s hard to know.
I do want to make mention of the packaging–specifically the lid to the product, which is very easy to open and there is a large opening from which to extract the tablets. This was an outstanding design decision, especially given that the demographic for this product is likely older folks who have some arthritis or other joint discomfort. I was very pleased not to have to struggle to open the bottle!

This product is okay but could be better. Good you only take two pills a day. I don’t like that it contains chondroitin. Chondroitin has been shown to be more harmful than helpful and carcinogenic. It did help somewhat for joint pain, but not as much as my normal joint supplement that contains different ingredients and does not contain chondroitin. I think I will use the rest of the bottle for my dog.

I have to first and foremost thank the Amazon Vine program for this free 80-tablet Schiff joint formula. I can easily compare it to “Move Free: Triple Strength,” because my mother has that version. The “Advanced” version that I sampled has less chondroitin than the original, triple strength formula. It has MSM, Vitamin D, Chinese Skullcap, and Black Catechu to perhaps compensate for the lower dosage of chondroitin. There’s 1,200 mg per serving size (2 capsules) in the original formula and 200 mg in the “Advanced” formula. Both formulas have hyaluronic acid in the formula, though only the “Advanced” version tells us how much: 3.3 mg.
I’ve heard contradictory information about hyaluronic acid. I read that we can only absorb it through the skin as a moisturizer. Apparently, if we take it internally, the strong stomach acid will render it useless. I don’t know whether this is true or not. Other pamphlets and products make great claims about the efficacy of internally supplementing with hyaluronic acid.
My mother has both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis; she is in constant pain. I don’t know to what extent this formula can help relieve her symptoms. Because of my exercise regime, my knees can feel tender (minor inflammation), so I supplement as well. Also, arthritis runs in my family, and I swear on overcast, rainy days, I will feel a low-grade throbbing in my finger joints. My cousin, who is in his mid-thirties, already has arthritis, which makes his avocational hobby of playing guitar in a band much more difficult.
MSM is supposed to help with skin conditions. My seborrhoeic dermatitis just keeps getting worse the older I get. I totally took my clear skin for granted throughout my teens and twenties. Now I savor the times when my (facial) dermatitis symptoms are in remission. Most people eat healthy to keep their weight in check; I eat healthy to attempt to keep my dermatitis at bay. So far, the MSM in this product hasn’t solved or abated my dermatitis issues.
I have heard that people need to be careful with glucosamine. It can affect some people’s blood sugar levels, and other people are just sensitive to this supplement.
Overall, this formula offers some of nature’s best anti-inflammatory tools. The dosage (chondroitin) is different from the original formula, and there are herbs in the “Advanced” formula. Check to make sure you don’t have any allergies or sensitivities to the ingredients.
